Danilenko Vasily Ivanovich (Dr. Vasily Danilenko) is a freelance artist.
Dr. Danilenko was born in the USSR in 1954 in the city of Yoshkar-Ola (Central Volga Region), the capital of the Mari El Republic. In his youth, he studied at the Art School of Yoshkar-Ola (1966-1971). He continued his studies at the Mari State Pedagogical Institute at the Faculty of Technical Disciplines and Drawing, wherehe studied metalworking, woodworking, graphics, and drawing.
In his younger years, he was fond of watercolors, drawing, linocut printmaking, and frescoes. During his military service in the regimental club, he engaged in easel painting-both oil and acrylic-and worked on large posters, as well as political advertising. At the theater inthe Trans-Baikal Military District, he took part in the set design for performances.
Dr. Danilenko has devoted most of his professional activity to journalism, having worked his way up from a correspondent for a regional newspaper to a political columnist. He worked in the press service at TASSfor the State Duma of the Federation Council of Russia.
In 1998, he created the publishing house NOTA BENE, which eventually became Russia's largest scientific publishing house.
In addition, Dr. Danilenkois the founder and publisher of more than 60 scientific journals, a significant part of which is devoted to culture and art: Philosophy and Culture, Culture and Art, Man and Culture, Urbanism, Historical Journal, Historical Journal: Scientific Research, Genesis: Historical Research, Philharmonica:International Music Journal, Litera, Philology: Scientific Research, Modern Education,Pedagogy and Enlightenment, and many others, which consider topical issues of cultural studies and art criticism.
In 2014, he returned to painting, specializing in portraits, landscapes, and still lives. His style is realism, close to the late neo-academicism.

Multiple winner of international painting competitions. Exhibited in the Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow, Russia) and ArtPlay Gallery (Moscow, Russia), in the halls of the Artists' Union of St. Petersburg (Russia). The Swiss gallery Artboxy presented the artist's works at the exhibitions: Casa del Arte Palma, Palma de Mallorca, Spain (2024), Zug, Switzerland (2024), ArtBasel, Switzerland (2025), ArtExpo New York, USA {2025), Galery Nicoletta, Berlin, Germany (2025), SwissArtExpo, Zurich, Switzerland (2025). Most of the artist's works are kept in his collection, some of them are distributed among cities in Russia, Slovakia and Austria.
